Recently, there have been over 1,500 book challenges across the country in school and public libraries. The most challenged/banned books have been LGBTQ+ books in school libraries and young adult sections in public libraries. Three librarians will discuss their fight to keep the graphic novel Gender Queer on the shelves in their public libraries. The audience will learn the difference between a book challenge and a book ban, the process of book challenges in libraries, and what they can do to support their local libraries and fight for the right to read
